From Protecting Homes to Helping You Find Yours

Meet Daniel McAfee – Bakersfield Realtor, Community Advocate, and Retired Police Officer

After 23 years of service with the Bakersfield Police Department, Daniel McAfee made the decision to retire — but not to slow down. “I’m not done serving the community,” he says. This next chapter in his life isn’t about stepping back — it’s about stepping up in a new way: helping families build a life through homeownership. As a Bakersfield native with deep local roots and a lifelong commitment to public trust, Daniel brings the same integrity, work ethic, and community-first mindset to his career in real estate that defined his time in law enforcement.

    Local First — Always

Daniel isn’t just working in Bakersfield — he’s from here. Born and raised, with decades of personal and professional ties across the city, he knows the neighborhoods, the people, and the culture. Whether it’s Northwest, Downtown, Seven Oaks, or the up-and-coming corners of the Southwest, Daniel brings a true boots-on-the-ground perspective that national agents can’t replicate.

He’s lived in several parts of Bakersfield throughout his life and now calls the Northwest home. He’s also remained active in the community through coaching youth sports, supporting first responder wellness initiatives, and volunteering with organizations that focus on helping troubled youth and reducing gang violence.

    A Different Kind of Realtor

What sets Daniel apart isn’t just experience — it’s purpose. After decades of protecting families, his new mission is helping them thrive through real estate. His approach is hands-on, transparent, and rooted in service.

“This is an intimidating industry that can overwhelm people. I’m not easily intimidated — and I’ll make sure my clients never feel alone.”

Daniel welcomes first-time buyers, sellers, investors, and out-of-town movers. He doesn’t chase price points — he chases impact. His goal is to guide clients toward smart, confident decisions they’ll never regret.

    Local Love, Real Estate Roots

Daniel’s love for Bakersfield runs deep. On any given weekend, you might catch him grabbing a coffee at 502 Coffee or Adventure Awaits, catching a concert at a local venue, or enjoying a night out at one of his favorite restaurants like Luigi’s, Sorella, El Sombrero, or Vatos Tacos. He’s big on dive bars with live music, small businesses, and hidden gems like Slice Lounge or Bakersfield Pizza Co. (which he swears makes the best Old Fashioned in town).

You’ll see this local pride show up in many of Daniel’s blog posts — from spotlights on under-the-radar neighborhoods to community guides that connect real estate with the Bakersfield lifestyle.

What to Expect from the Blog

Each month, Daniel will publish a series of educational real estate blogs and one wildcard post tied to Bakersfield life. These will cover:
